Alpenhorn Bed and Breakfast Inn

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST Bed and Breakfast that I have ever been to! The house is beautiful and when you walk in, you feel at home. It always smells amazing and it's exactly what you are looking for when coming in from the snow! Secondly, the rooms are fantastic. We stayed in Edelweiss. It was so large and spacious and the bathroom has a shower and large jacuzzi tub! The beds are so comfortable that you just melt into it! ||||The food is incredible. Everything is made from scratch and from the highest quality ingredients. The scones and oatmeal and soooo yummy! And the bacon is some of the best I've ever had. Not only do they serve you breakfast, but they also offer appetizers and wine in the evening. Johann is a gourmet chef and we were wowed by the appetizers each night. ||

This place is awesome! Very nice amenities in a quaint area with a beautiful backyard but the real gems here are the owners Johann and Evelyn, they are the nicest hosts in Big Bear, and Johann's cooking is AMAZING. He is hands down the best chef in Big Bear, including all the fancy restaurants up here. He does dinners on Thursday and Saturday nights, you have to reserve your seat in advance because it's very intimate, the night we ate there it was 2 tables of 8. We had the best beef we have very had a French style Filet Mignon, an amazing twice baked potato and some of the best desert I have had in years, he also makes his own ancient grain sourdough bread that is so good he sells it to other restaurants and anyone lucky enough to try it. Wow, we've been to a lot of bed and breakfasts and this is by far the best! This was our second visit to the Alpenhorn and it is now our "go to" B&B in Southern California.||||The house is cozy and the rooms are huge! The bed was super comfortable and we had a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub in our room. Best of all was the food though. Johann and his team have elevated the culinary experience to a whole new level. ||||Not only do you have some great appetizers and South African wines in the evenings, but we added on the 3 course dinner with wine pairing each night. We took our children and their significant others on a family weekend getaway to Alpenhorn. It was perfect. The accommodations are beautiful. The rooms are pretty, spacious, clean and well appointed. Wifi works everywhere. Plenty of hot water in the showers and tubs. The rooms come with breakfast and 5:30 wine/appetizers which are plentiful enough for a dinner. The outdoor spaces are peaceful, lush, and relaxing. ||Evelyn and Johann the proprietors are interesting, interested, fun, knowledgeable, accomplished, smart people. The energy that they bring to their Bed and Breakfast is infectious. I cannot recommend Alpenhorn more highly. We will definitely be returning with our family.

We just returned from a wonderful long weekend at the Alpenhorn. Johann and his team were wonderful hosts. Our room was huge, clean and comfortable. The view was very serene and calming. The common areas were spacious and allowed for us to spend some much needed time with friends. ||||The food was delicious! We enjoyed so many meals over the course of our stay.
