Alias Coffee

In town to visit and found this gem of a coffee shop. The barista brewed us à fort ado and capu and it was Really good. Coffee has full of flavor and really hit the spot to get our day going. The pastries looked fresh but didn’t try. Next time.

Unfortunately, the conversations between staff and regular customers often feel like you are walking in on a private meeting between friends. The tea and coffee are enjoyable but the expense of the product is not worth it due to an unpleasant atmosphere.

The atmosphere is actually very pleasant, charming, homely- although very tight, still cozy. And the woman behind the counter seemed really sweet. But the coffee itself was just okay. Like coffee you’d get from a cafe in NYC.

Ordered a hot coffee and they handed it over at scolding temperatures with no lid or heat sleeve on it. It was so hot my hand went numb immediately, and having no lid it spilled and burned my skin before I could get to the lids. Ended up throwing the coffee away down the block as it was too hot to continue walking home with it.

I thought that the Alias coffee was fairly new. It's tricky but I'll explain it, the business has been in existence since 2020 but the kication is new. Alias Coffee partnered with 518 Craft and Primobotanica to open up in a shared space in downtown Troy, NY initially during covid. With good coffee and service, I'm sure they will have a successful future. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do taste it so as part of the yelp experience, community CO was thoughtful enough to partner with a small and upcoming local coffee shop on National coffee day and get us in for a cup of coffee. I asked the Barsita to make me the best drink from the available choices and was given a Cappuccino, which I took a sip and handed it to my dad.
