Agate Beach State Recreation Site

Lovely Beach, easily accessible for those with walking issues, nice recreation area.

To get here, search for ‘agate beach state park beach parking’ across the street on the map, park there, and enter the area via the road and tunnel. Alternatively, you can park nearby and walk toward the hotel side to access the place. It’s a great spot for walking your dog and offers a nice distant view of the lighthouse. I came back here on a foggy morning for another walk with my dog—definitely a place I recommend.

That Agate Beach spot is a really nice beach on the Oregon coast. I think it was low tide when we went, so we had to walk a ways to get to the water. There was tons of sand, like a desert. But when we got to the water, it was so cool and nice. The water was great, cool, and clean. There weren't many people there, probably because of all that sand. They probably just stayed at the dunes.

Great spot. The parking here is nice, it wasn't too busy. Restrooms are good. I liked that there is a short tunnel under the main road to safely get from one side of the road to the beach side. The sand hills were intense and felt like a bit of a workout to get to the ocean. This is a beautiful place with a nice view of a lighthouse.

I found it a perfect place to stop on a rainy day. Sand was compact, easy walking. Waves (tide) was low, so the beach was wide. Really beautiful. Small parking area, had to cross a stream of water to get to the beach (no bridge, so if you have mobility issues might not be a perfect spot). Didn't see restrooms. The beauty is what made me happy to visit. I saw many people bring their dogs.
