A delightful new Colombian bakery! The seating area is clean and thoughtfully decorated with a ton of fresh pastries on display! They all looked so good, I wasn’t sure what to get so I asked the staff and they were incredibly friendly and approachable, happy to answer my questions and make suggestions. They gave me great suggestions and I walked away with a bag of goodies! The pan hawaiano and pastel Gloria were particularly tasty! Can’t wait to stop in again for more delicious food! 🤤
Truly authentic Colombian bakery. The pandebono was so delicious! The Pastel de pollo was so full of chicken and it was so good. Loved the Rosca de Arequipa and Guayaba, both were so tasty. Nothing was overly sweet. You could really taste it. The man and woman behind the counter were both very helpful and kind. It was a pleasure going there. I’d definitely recommend it.
Abuela Mela delivers an excellent Colombian bakery experience. The pan trenza cheese bread was a highlight! There’s a range of yummy flavors, including guayaba, and their dulce-de-leche-filled croissants are beautiful! The roscon de arequipeños aka a sweet bread ring are so pretty and scrumptious! The bakery is authentic, fresh, and welcoming. There are also a variety of impressive cakes. I plan to return soon for your rich café con leche y pasteles! Thank you!
What a great new bakery/café! Congratulations on the Grand Opening! We tried: - an Arequipe Croissant (filled with Colombian dulce de leche) - a Pandebono (sweet & salty Colombian cheese bread), - a Pastel Hawaiano (turnover with ham, cheese, and pineapple) - Traditional Coffee with panela (brown sugar), cinnamon and clove Everything was wonderful and fresh. No seating (yet?) but can’t wait to see what they do with the space.
My husband and I stopped into this new Colombian bakery for the first time and were so impressed! The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming—she even took the time to walk us through all the pastries in the case and gave us a little sample to try. We ended up sharing a beef pastry, a chicken pastry, and a ham–pineapple–cheese one. Every single one was delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, savory, and super satisfying—honestly the perfect little lunch. So happy to have this spot in our neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back!
