Absolutely Edible Cakes & Catering

I dont think its possible to pick a bad dessert from here, and I tried the wings and oxtail for the first time. It was SO DANG GOOD i couldnt even get pics of the full plates before my huband and I ate! I haven't had better garlic mashed potatoes anywhere. They are seriously addictive. The sweet potato thang is so delicious. The watermelon pickles were an impulse purchase because it was the first time I had seen them in the display case and it was great. Sour, sweet, tangy.

Today I celebrated my 43rd birthday with a very unexpected surprise visit to Absolutely Edible Cakes & Catering. My husband knew that I have been wanting to go for a couple of years now. All I have to say is, THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! I had the fried chickens, greens, and cabbage. My husband had the fried wings, Mac and cheese, and fries. Aunt Nikki, you ABSOLUTELY know you do your THANG with this soul food!!! We'll definitely be coming back AT LEAST once a month 💜

I know owners hate a bad review and they will say it’s fake or lies when they should really utilize the opportunity to level up their customer service. We ordered a cake a couple of months before our wedding. What we wanted was a peacock cake with 3 tiers and we provided Pinterest photos to demonstrate. Fondant on top and feathers coming down the back. After being told by two bakeries that they couldn’t do it, we were referred to Absolutely Edible and she said from the beginning that she could do it, no problem. After Nikki told us she could do it no problem; we immediately paid the $1000 deposit for an almost $2000 wedding cake. Then, just WEEKS before our wedding she calls and says the cake is a bad idea and will “cave in on itself” She’s also difficult to get on the phone. Every time

The food and desserts are absolutely delicious! Today was soul food Sunday where you have to be a regular to know when it’s going to be. They don’t serve food every Sunday. I got an oxtail plate it comes with 3 sides! I got candied yams, mac & cheese, and Black Eyed Peas. The sides in rate it 8.0 the oxtails I rate a 8.5 everything was seasoned well. “The sweet potato thang” I give a 9.0 the pecan pie 8.5. If you in the Roweltt area or visiting the DFW try this place out now!

First off I don’t want to bash this business they have great customer service and wonderful desserts. This was my second visit. First time I got the fried chicken dinner with a spaghetti and greens. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. The pie is amazing. This go I wanted to try the soul food Saturday. As advertised from there Facebook page. I ordered smothered pork chop, cabbage, Mac & cheese,and mash potatoes. Per picture. This was not very good. The cabbage seemed overcooked not very flavorful, nor the mac&cheese the Garlic mash potatoes were fine. Pork chops were tender but the gravy was not that great seemed powdered or from a jar.
