Abilene Public Library

Librarians are always friendly and helpful. Great selection and lots of open space. Movie and show selection is great too!

This is the worst public library in Texas and l've been to the largest and smallest county libraries in Texas. As a professor and researcher, l've had the joy essential privilege to go around Texas and utilize the public libraries and their resources, until l got to Abilene Public Library. Nothing works, including the "staff!" I've been here five months and the computers have not worked and the staff doesn't know when they'll be back up, the elevator doesn't work, the restrooms on the second floor do not work, the water fountains barely give a trickle of water and the only vending machine with drinks has not been refilled and there are a few old bottles of DP and a few juice bottles. I'm finally leaving for Boston in a few days and really won't miss Abilene and its "library."

Love the downtown library and the one at the mall. They have DVDs in English and Spanish. There were people upstairs at the downtown branch working jigsaw puzzles. Might be a good way for me to get my puzzle fun in without worrying about my cat hiding the pieces.

I have not been in the library in years. It still looked the same, but bigger. The layout seemed more open and I loved that! The gentleman at the desk was very attentive and friendly. I was looking for book club kits and he let me know they were book clubs in a box and directed me to their location. When I went to checkout my book both the librarians were so kind and helpful. The staff made my experience very easy and relaxing. The actual library was clean, resourceful, and easy to browse.

all the computers and especially the printers are down. they have been down for a few days.
