AAzucar Cuban Food

First let me say the food was absolutely authentic and delicious. Like if my grandma was cooking. I am shocked. I visit family in miami and this food blows doors on that. Servings are huge. I'll be back. Having said that I will say that it is in a permanent food truck park, so you will be eating in the patio. I wasn't too sure about it but the vibe was awesome. They make everything fresh so food takes a while to arrive but today it was 102 degrees at 6;30. It's too hot. What I will do next time is I will call ahead, wait about 45 minutes to let the cook it then pick it up to go home. It's definitely a treat. A big treat. A great Cuban food spot. I'm slowly working my way around to all the Cuban places around the North Houston/Spring/Conroe area. Hit three so far. A good one, a bad one and this one...the best so far. A truly massive sandwich first of all. They don't put mustard on theirs by default so if that's a must for you then you need to ask for it. I liked it fine without. Huge slabs of ham. Tons of roasted pork. Nice thick chewy bread that's soft on the inside. I also had croquettes and they were also the best I had so far. I didn't finish them at either of the last two spots. Ate all of them here. It's an outdoor eatery but it's got a permanent pavilion set up so even though it was raining I stayed dry. The biggest challenge was getting my regular cuban sandwich. Our first time here and we will definitely be back. This restaurant is located in the Food Zone which is a food truck park. Staff is super friendly, the portions are humongous but most importantly the food is delicious! I had the Ropa Viejo which is tender, shredded beef. My husband got the fried pork which he loved. We chose white rice and black beans and maduros, sweet plantains, as our sides. We wanted to try the tostones too. So yummy! Check out this spot if you're in the New Caney/Porter area.

Food is amazing! The employee (or owner, not sure) was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back.
