A Taste Of Island Spice

Ordered jerk chicken, fried chicken and curry goat. Everything was bone dry! Jerk chicken was a dry rub no juices and dry like it had been smoked. Fried chicken definitely was cooked days ago and reheated and dried out. Curry goat was chewy and not tender at all. It was so dry that they did not have enough liquid to put over the rice. Flavorless and the rice and peas was dry and the gravy tasted tomato based. The food was clearly not fresh maybe cooked days ago and reheated. This was a waste of time and money. In service - the woman was not friendly whatsoever I felt like I was bothering her to order. I would not recommend this place for anything. It’s been years since I’d been there. What a disappointment- won’t go back.

It’s uncommon these days to get a good value for your money, but A Taste Of Island Spice does just that! The food is flavorful, the portions are great, and the price is affordable. The seafood is made to order, so you’re guaranteed to get a fresh meal. I had the catfish dinner and it was delicious! My sister had the stew chicken which she said was very good. Highly recommend.

Great Food,Ample Parking, Terrible Customer Service! This is my 2nd time to this restaurant. My brother in law and sister in law eats here more regularly. I cannot understand why this restaurant has not done anything about what appears to be a the 4-year old issue of ‘sucky’ customer service. If you look at the reviews of this restaurant you’ll get appreciation for how much people are loving the food. However it is also very apparent that folks, including myself are tired of the attitude we get when we call or stop by to get our food from this place! Last time there was a nice lady that dealt with us. I believe she might be the chef - she mostly works in the back. The roles here might need to be changed- the current lady at the front needs to go to the back and the lady in the back nee

Food is so good! I tried the oxtail and jerked chicken. Will definitely try more of the other dishes they have.

Im not sure what’s going on over there. This used to be my go to spot for oxtails, rice and peas and jerk chicken. I don’t even mind the extra cost, but yesterday they lost my respect. I remained a faithful patron despite the nasty attitude of the girl who worked there temporarily…until I didn’t see her as much- cool…but when you mess with the sole purpose of me going there- the food- it’s a wrap. I share the large oxtails with my daughter and we never have a problem. But on my last visit, they gave me SEVEN oxtails! Who counts food, right? Read on to see what led to my counting. Two of them had so much fat I would need a script of Lipitor to eat them. 🤢 Three of them were so tough the meat didn’t retain the flavor, and two were just bones…. with all this rice and peas and soggy tasteless
