I feel this restaurant is very good. Everything is very fresh and the atmosphere is nice. Also, the price is very good in my opinion. $55 for 3 kinda big dishes (even though they are called small plates) + some free bread (which was just okay but free), then dessert is $10-14. I think very worth it for special occasions.

We celebrated our 20 year anniversary and had an AMAZING experience at 80 Thoreau! The food was quality and thoughtful, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and they make you feel at ease with a great atmosphere! We had a nice bottle of dry/red wine with a 3 course meal; we did al a carte, but they did offer a tasting menu featuring sea bass for the season. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing, a hidden gem. Everything from the moment you walk in is A plus! Service is excellent, our waiter explained the different menu items and gave great suggestions on wine. The food, there aren’t enough words, it’s art crafted on your plate, that is not only visually appealing, but tastes so good! The true diamond in this establishment is the bartender, I think he’s one of the best in MA, he’s truly gifted at his craft! I think one of the reasons I really enjoy my experience here is because there are no TV’s and no loud music. It is truly a place you can go and enjoy a nice dinner without the distraction!!!

Wow. I pretty much never give 5 stars and I grade on a scale. So 4 is very high rating. A ding for atmosphere as we were seated at a window with street view of neon signs. Perhaps I should have mentioned it was our anniversary. Service was good but could have been better. There was a ten minute period where we could get no attention. Otherwise, they were pretty attentive without being overbearing. I appreciate that couple of servers came by at the end of the meal to interact with us. It was a nice personal touch. The food: at worst it was well executed and super creative. At best, the steak frites strip was the most flavorful piece of beef that has ever passed my lips. The duck fat fries were awesome.
