8 Mile Farm B&B

This place is a gem! I stayed just for one night, but enjoyed every aspect of the stay. The bed was excellent, with nice feeling sheets and a lovely mattress topper. The walk in shower was absolutely decadent, and the room is so pleasantly decorated with lots of little touches to provide extra hospitality. Breakfast was delicious and they were able to provide a gluten free meal. Coffee was available early and I had a nice time chatting over breakfast with the other guests. The common area is so inviting, with a well-curated library, cozy seating, and a pinball machine. I thought, if I stayed here three consecutive days, I could probably produce the first draft of that novel I've always wanted to write, such was the comfort and feeling of the common space. The breakfast was delightful, with fresh orange juice, quiche, bread, yogurt, and a variety of berries, all served on charming country-style china. The bed was very comfortable with soft cotton sheets and quality fabric, making for a restful night’s sleep. The rooms were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully kept, and the bathroom was spotless and fully functional. What I loved most was the atmosphere. At dusk, the sky opened up to a blanket of stars, the air was fresh with the scent of grass, and you could truly feel immersed in nature. In the morning, the gentle clucking of chickens created a sweet, almost musical backdrop, and feeding the goats added a touch of simple country joy. We truly enjoyed our stay here. My wife and I spent four nights at Eight Mile Farm and it was a great experience. |Far better than some corporate hotel, but still close enough to the Dalles for sightseeing and dining.| Brad and Brenda are warm and welcoming and breakfast is amazing! It is a working farm with cattle, goats, and free range chickens. With plenty of room to relax (I really liked being by the creek) and visit with other guests. |Our room was spacious and comfortable and the main room has comfortable seating and a nice selection of reading material. |You will not be disappointed if you stay at Eight Mile Farm.

We could only stay for a weekend, I didn't want to leave! If you're looking for the simple life and want to get away from the hectic everyday we seem to live in, this is the place. You can feel yourself relaxing the moment you cross the wooden bridge and head down the long curved driveway. You'll see goats, chickens, cows and the deer herds that come down to the fields in the evening. Brad and Brenda have a huge garden and you can buy fresh produce and homemade jam to take home. The breakfast was amazing, a frittata, homemade pastry and fresh fruit. We will definitely return another time.

My wife and I stayed at 8 Mile B&B early June 2025. Brenda and Brad were great hosts. The place was very nice. Nice front porch to site on in the evening and listen to the wildlife. Great library and very interesting book collection. Breakfast was incredible. Not far from the Dalles. I highly recommend this place. Only caution is there did not seem to be any business sign by the driveway entrance - GPS was fine but we weren't sure we had found the right place.
