I'll be honest, I hadn't heard of this place. I didn't even know there was a town called Morris in CT. Tried to get a table for Valentine's day, by they were booked out, so I thought Feb 13 works just a well and got a 7pm dinner. Starting with the valet and coat check at the gate, the service was very professional, which set a tone for the rest of the night. We both opted for the 3 course prix-fixed menu for $99 each. The Octopus starter and Lamb pasta entree were stand outs. They have a comprehensive wine list as well, but choice is limited if you're ordering by the glass. Between each course, the chef sent us complimentary snacks that paired really well with the meal. After dessert, we spent a few minutes just hanging around the building and admired the restored historic house. Overal
Every bite tells the truth about the devotion of your dedication and skill. Thank you Chef and your team for the Wonderful experience!!! This will be unforgettable.
The service is unparalleled, the food is Michelin star worthy, and the cottages are original and fun. The staff is top notch and their entire goal is to make you happy. It is such a unique and tranquil getaway.
I did not know it was a fixed price menu. I prefer to see prices. They seemed very flexible though. The food was good, but the portions were extremely small. I felt that it was way overpriced. As an example, I ordered the halibut and there may have been one piece of a vegetable underneath it. It was a very small piece of fish with nothing else. The salad was very good but it was maybe four mouthfuls. I just can't see paying that kind of money for that quantity. $540 for three people that had four beers and one mocktail (2 of us had 2 items & one in the party had 3 items). Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
Second time visiting. Had the beef tatare, roasted quail, pork tenderloin, and philly cheesecake. All excellent and delicious. The ambiance and service were also great, as before. Still near the top of the list for restaurants, for sure.
