313 Franklin - Cocktails and Kitchen

My first time coming here and I am loving everything from the atmosphere/old school vibes, the menu and its delicious simplicity’s, and the staff. I had a burger and it was HUGE, and delicious. My mom had the chicken salad cold plate which was also, you guessed it, delicious! I can’t remember our servers name but she was wonderful and attentive. All other staff we came in contact with were great as well. Can’t wait to come back!

A++++ we had a great find driving through. Looking for a steak to celebrate my husband achievement. This sweet find had a manager Hunter that certainly encouraged us to find this spot again. Great food, an old school reborn. Go find out for yourself

While visiting the small town of South Hill, my husband and I stumbled upon this gem – 313 Franklin – Cocktails and Kitchen. The name itself was intriguing, so we ventured in. The atmosphere is inviting, with a rich history and beautiful decor.  I loved that they turned the old high school into a charming restaurant; although you wouldn’t know it by the looks of the chic furnishings and the tablescaping. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. All of the restaurant staff were attentive without being overbearing. My husband and I enjoyed the specially crafted cocktails, a blackberry sour and a smoked old-fashioned. The cocktails were balanced and tasty. I stumbled across this spot when asking ChatGPT for a restaurant recommendation and was genuinely surprised to find something like this in town. First off, kudos to the developer for finding a creative way to reuse the space—it’s a little unconventional, but they’ve done a great job making it work. Service was excellent, and as someone with a background in hospitality, I really appreciated the energy and friendliness. They clearly enjoy working together, and it shows. I sat at the bar to get some work done and was grateful to find an outlet nearby—such a small thing but a big win for people who need to work. I have been twice. Once to dinner and once for a party at their " Dogwood Room". Both really nice times. Dinner was way more, I mean way more expensive than I anticipated, and I didn't have any cocktails. Also, our dinner order was accurate and the food was yummy, my Brussel sprouts were almost too hard to eat. My friend ordered No Shrimp in her Alfredo ( asking if she could get a no shrimp version before she ordered ) and it came with shrimp. It was lucky for all involved she wasn't allergic like I am, because they just took it out. So, I would be really really careful if you have food allergies.
