Customer Reviews
Excellent B & B for bikers on C & O trail. Only a 100ft from trail although bike storage is in back of house. Owner is extremely accommodating ( eg. serves breakfast any time you want it) and serves a superb breakfast with many choices. Rooms are great. And there is a fabulous bike store only 2 blocks away
What can I say? In addition to a very large, super clean room, Joe was super friendly, offering Gatorade and later - pie! Great breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately, all was not well due to biker stupidity that resulted in a trip to the Berkley Springs ER :( Joe immediately dropped what he was doing to drive me over, came back later when I was ready to go, and let me hang out until my son came to retrieve me. Of course this means I will have to come back next year to finish the last two days of the GAP / C&O trip. Sorry Joe, you are not rid of me!
Joe could not have been more helpful! Helped us wash our bikes. Escorted us to our rooms. Advised us on local sites. Prepared a fabulous breakfast made to order. Pointed us in the direction of the Western Maryland Rail Trail. We had a great conversation on early 20th century literature! Regardless of what brings you to Hancock, I highly recommend a stay at 1828 Trail Inn.
We only stayed one night because we were picking our son up from his grandparents house but we absolutely intend to come back for a much longer weekend! Joe was an incredibly amazing host, and his little dog Boo (sp?) was a great little greeter. Joe was friendly and accommodating. He was amazing at suggesting things to do and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. There was Gatorade in the fridge for when we needed it and we really enjoyed "Pie on the Porch" in the evening. The breakfast was sensational and I wish I had two stomachs because I couldn't eat all of it. He definitely made sure you did not leave hungry! You got to choose what mean did she got and I chose the omelettes with avocado and green salsa. My husband got the Southwestern Bake which was also wonderful. There's
My husband and I stayed here last week while biking the GAP/C&O. Highly recommend for anyone doing that trip, or anyone in Hancock for any other reason! There’s secure bike storage with tire pumps/a hose to prep your bike for the next day’s ride. We stayed in what I believe was the Rail room or something to that effect, which was extremely comfortable and had big tub, private balcony, and TV equipped for our streaming services. There is also a nice laundry room available with a fridge stocked with free Gatorade. Most importantly, the homemade breakfast was delicious, and Joe is a warm and friendly host! Hope to be back for sure.
