곰순아 Gom Soon Ah

This place is located in the LOTTE shopping center in the food court to the right. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while shopping at LOTTE; the rice cake soup was phenomenal. Some of the best Korean soup I’ve had and the sweet-and-sour pork was very good with a very good portion. Enjoyed the food very much.

Things to know: 1. It's counter service with folks who don't seem like they are happy to see you. You carry your food to and from the table and clear your own dishes. 2. The food is good but not great. There are 4 other Korean restaurants within 5 minutes that have equivalent or better quality at the same or lower prices. 3. It's located in the food court of the Lotte grocery store. The ambiance is shoppers passing by and small children throwing tantrums at nearby tables. Despite all of that, I haven't stopped coming here at least annually and sometimes more for the past decade. It's not trying to be more than it is, and you know you'll always get something good and classic, even if it's not great or well presented.

I tried their takeout dishes after reading positive reviews about this Korean restaurant in Chantilly Lotte Plaza's food court. They were delicious, with good portions and reasonable prices. I ordered the Daegu Jiri (Mild Cod Fish Soup) and Japtang Bap (Seafood & Vegetable in sauce with rice). The Cod Fish soup was tasty with tofu, radish, green onion, and Codfish pieces, which were good enough to share between the two. The broth had a good balance of saltiness and fish flavor. The Seafood & Vegetable rice was also delicious, with an excellent fusion of Korean and Chinese flavors and a hot kick from chilies at the end. The service was okay, and the food court area was clean. I definitely plan to order from this restaurant again next time I am in the area.

Gom Soon Ah is a hidden gem in Chantilly, located inside the Lotte Plaza Market food court. My family loves coming here! Their tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) is my absolute favorite—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy flavors. All their dishes are packed with bold flavors and come with generous portions, ensuring we always leave satisfied. The service is quick, and despite being in a food court, the quality of the food is fantastic. If you’re a fan of Korean cuisine, this spot is a must-try!

Didn't think much since it was inside of a grocery store, Lotte. But surprisingly very tasty. We ordered spicy squid and spicy soup with noodles. Both were perfectly seasoned to my taste, just enough spiciness, and just enough ingredients. I enjoyed both dishes so much. A perfect touch to end with corn flavored drink. Will definitely come back for sure.
