I recently visited Shoo Loong Kan in Jersey City for a Lunar New Year gathering and had such a great experience. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with red lanterns, which made it feel extra festive. We tried the new pork tripe and chicken broth, and it was surprisingly rich and flavorful. The broth is slow-cooked and you can really taste the depth. The tripe was fresh and tender, and the pepper added a nice aroma without being overpowering. I also highly recommend the marinated tofu, bamboo shrimp paste, and hand-pulled noodles, they pair perfectly with the tomato or clear broth. It is a great hot pot spot with plenty of options for everyone. The spicy broth is flavorful and you can adjust the spice level, which is a big plus. If you don’t want spicy food, they also offer tomato and mushroom soup bases. There’s a wide selection of dipping sauces, plus free ice jelly and ice cream, which is a nice bonus. Great place for group dining and will definitely come back.
