Zao Asian Cafe

Always a great experience eating at Zao! This one is in a fun location in the heart of Sugar House. It was staffed well, even though there was a line. Food was quality, it tasted amazing, and their new honey sriracha chicken was super tasty.

I've always loved the food at this place. But this location, the employees were so courteous, helpful and efficient. The place was clean and even the bathrooms were spotless. Really enjoyed my food and the atmosphere. I ordered noodle bowls one with chicken and the other one with tofu.

It’s a fun, high energy atmosphere. The staff is top notch! They know what they’re doing, and they’re very personable. The people working here always seem to be in good moods. I love the food! If you can’t decide between rice, or noodles in your bowl- you can have both! Go with half and half! They are really generous with portions. I ask for extra shredded carrots and broccoli and they give it to me- no grumpy vibes- and no extra charge. There are so many great menu options that anyone can find something that will be to their liking. I love the chicken pot stickers, the braised tender- slow roasted pork. You will love it!

I always place Togo orders to avoid the line. This I think is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened, but for some reason there are always mistakes in my order. Like this time, I got a can of diet instead of a bottle, other times I’ll get the wrong rice, or even veggies on top (I always ask for no toppings). Love the food that’s why I keep coming back, but these guys need to take an extra look at the ticket in order to make sure it’s actually right before sending it out.

The food is great and they have a variety of import drinks as well as very light teas and soft drinks, the service is fast as they have a Chipotle style assembly line for your food and the staff are very polite and listen very well. The food doesn't leave you feeling sluggish and there's enough to where it doesn't leave you feeling like you can eat more either. After eating here you are perfectly content with your meal and can go for a walk around the area for a few hours before you're even hungry again.
