Counter service - small menu - lots of vegetarian option. We had "The Upsidedown" and it was delicious and well prepared - short wait. I also had a lamb and beef shawarma wrap - the taste was great, but overall a little dry - thankfully I had extra garlic sauce with the other entre - the garlic sauce was truly delightful!! The fries also stood out as exceptional - they had a nice crunch to them. I will try to visit again. Bathroom needs attention, both cleaning and updating which is why I only have 3 stars to atmosphere.
Visiting my daughter at the University of Michigan I stayed in one of the local hotels. I wanted dinner, but not from a chain restaurant and opted for Zamaan Cafe. What a great choice it was! The place is unassuming, yet cozy. The owner, Ali, is welcoming and helpful when it comes to choosing items from the menu. But it really is the food that steals the show here: delicious, fresh, tasty and prepared fast. I had a chicken shawarma with pickles, tomatoes and garlic, a side of hummus and their famous cinnamon tea. It was a feast that I will try to replicate next time I am in Ann Arbor.
Stopped by for a quick dinner while staying at a nearby hotel. I had the falafel plate and it was delicious. The falafel was crisp and the hummus and salad were very flavorful. I will definitely return next time I’m in town.
Maria helped us and it was great. Amazing food and can’t say they could’ve done anything better. Would highly recommend to anyone that likes this type of food. Had a great time and will be back. Thanks for everything! And give Maria a raise please! She was wonderful.
We got a smattering of appetizers, the sweet cinnamon tea, and the Shay Zamaan drink. Good sized portions, the drinks were tasty. The cinnamon tea is exactly what you would want from cinnamon tea. The atmosphere is relaxing, calm, and casual. There were couches and leather chairs to sit on in addition to regular tables and chairs.
