Amazing small izakaya with a really good promotion running for their prefix menu (2 appetizers, 1 meal, 1 dessert) that is super worth it. The vibes are really nice in the restaurant and the staff are really kind, attentive, and recommended great dishes! I especially enjoyed the grilled fish and fried oysters, they were both very fresh and cooked very well. I will be back!!
the lunch course was pretty good deal( it wS on promotion so cheaper than usual) their grilled mackerel was my most favorite. the sushi roll was so great when I first visited but when I came again it was decent( the quality of sashimi).
Zaku Izakaya has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Boston. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The skewers were grilled perfectly and full of flavor, the scallops were buttery and tender, and the short ribs were unbelievably good. Even the smaller dishes were packed with flavor, and we cleaned every plate. The restaurant has a cozy and lively vibe that makes it perfect for a night out with friends. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and their recommendations helped us try a great variety of dishes. The pacing of the meal was just right, with everything coming out hot and fresh. If you are looking for top quality Japanese izakaya food in Boston, this is the place to go. I am already excited to come back and try even more from their menu.
Absolutely loved this Japanese restaurant! The food is delicious with rich, well-balanced flavors, and the portion sizes are very generous. Everything we tried was excellent. One tip: don’t over-order—portions are bigger than expected and you’ll likely end up taking a lot home. Highly recommend!
During our visit to Boston from Dubai, we had the pleasure of dining at Zaku Izakaya on Columbus Avenue, and it truly turned out to be an exceptional experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, perfectly complementing the authentic Japanese culinary journey that awaited us. The food was outstanding in every aspect. The okra fries were a delightful surprise crispy, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the evening. The sushi was prepared with great finesse, fresh and perfectly balanced in taste. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection, carrying a distinct flavor that made it memorable. What stood out most was the consistency across the entire menu; not a single dish felt ordinary. It was a complete dining experience where every plate reflected quality and attention to detail. Za
