My brother recommended this restaurant, and I can see why this place is a hidden gem right here in Long Island. Though this place is small and its menu is simple, everything about it all is authentic and tasteful from its atmosphere to its food. For appetizers, we ordered Youta Dumpling, Shishamo Tempura, and Shishito Truffle Salt. The Dumplings is full of flavor. The Shishamo is new to me, but surprisingly taste similar to sardines and very soft. The Shishito tastes good, but wished that it was a bit more roasted. We then ordered the Katsu Curry, Shrimp Katsu Curry, and Shouu Truffle Ramen. The curries are to the point! They have a bit of a kick, but they definitely hit the spot! The crispness and the curry blends well with the rice. The Ramen is great, filled with the mushroom broth and

I was really excited to eat here since it brags about how it is one of the top ramen restaurants in LI as well as “Top 2 in the World” according to a poster in front of their entry door. A party of two with water, 2 ramen and a very pricy appetizer was around $60ish with a 20+% tip. Let me start with the appetizer. We got the Carpaccio with some wasabi soy glaze. Six average bite sized slices for $16. Definitely could’ve gotten sushi or more for $16 but it was my loss. The ramen. How disappointing. Their “18 hour cooked to perfection broth” was quite upsettingly comparable to the $1.25 tonkotsu instant ramen from the dollar tree, (not even kidding try the tonkotsu instant ramen and make chashu yourself). I had the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and the Youta Ramen, (the main bowl to get from here).

Wow amazing food and service!! I got the Niku ramen I definitely recommend it, one of the best meals I’ve had. My partner had the tonkatsu ramen, he said in his opinion if you’re looking for crunch inside, add the chicken appetizer to the ramen and it’s perfect. The only slight problem was it’s very tiny, and the place fills up QUICK! But I see how this place was nominated #2 nationwide for ramen, great spot.

Definitely a trendy spot — about 80% full within 15 minutes. Just like authentic ramen shops in Japan, the seating is tight, but that’s part of the vibe. The tori karaage — oh my goodness — absolutely delicious and generously portioned. The tempura was also excellent, with a light, thin batter that wasn’t greasy. These two dishes easily rank in the top three of all the places I’ve ever tried. If I had to nitpick, the taro was slightly undercooked. Living up to its “Top 3 Ramen of 2024” reputation, it did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, the chashu melted in your mouth, and best of all, it didn’t leave you desperately chugging water afterward like some overly salty ramen does.

Youta Ramen on Old Country Road is an absolute gem — easily one of the best Japanese comfort-food spots I’ve tried in New York. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We started with the sashimi dishes, and they were outstanding. • Hamachi in ponzu was incredibly fresh, buttery, and perfectly balanced with citrus and herbs. • The salmon carpaccio with ikura was another highlight — rich, silky slices with just the right amount of sauce and texture. The ramen is where Youta truly shines. The broth was rich and comforting, the chili paste added a perfect kick, and the chashu melted in your mouth. The seasoned egg was cooked perfectly with that golden, jammy center. We also tried the fried smelt, which came out hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned — perfect with a
