Yo Mama's Soul Food

Very welcoming and comfortable home-like atmosphere. The food was really good overall. I didn't care for the Mac and chesse, and the red beans and rice need a little more jazzing up, but overall, it's really good. The baked chicken OMG, simply perfection! Very spacious sitting area and nice and clean. Finally, tea cakes that taste like they should, YES!!

First of all, I want to thank my washer and dryer repairman for not showing up today. If he Would have shown up today, then I wouldn't have had the opportunity to go out to wash clothes and find this little gem of a restaurant. The moment I drove up and rolled down my window.I just knew that it'was going to be phenomenal. Walked into the most cutest restaurant, with beautiful tables and decorations. As I entered the restaurant.I was promptly greeted by the most cutest couple ever. They made a few recommendations and let me know what were my available selections. They had oxtails laying in s river of brown sauce and meatloaf all sexy waiting to be picked, spaghetti and baked golden chicken some kind of smothered steak and the most beautiful selection of sides. I chose the vegetable plate

Customer service was exceptional the oxtails weren’t as tender, the greens were nasty had a awful taste, the macaroni was good, tea cakes weren’t so good too much lemon, pig feet had lot of flavor, kool aid was good , yams were a ten the rice was good, . Overall 3.5 I felt this could have been better.

I am extremely disappointed and honestly disgusted. I found a roach in my fruit punch Kool-Aid, and it was stuck in the ice. This makes me question whether the ice station is being properly cleaned and maintained. When I called to report it, all I received was a simple “sorry.” There was no urgency, no concern, and no real effort to address how serious this is. Finding a roach in a drink is completely unacceptable and a major health concern. An inspection needs to be done, and management should have handled this situation much better. This experience was beyond unacceptable. I will never eat here again.

Hey all in all the food was great! They could add some more seasoning/spice, but the overall taste of the 'actual' food was great and I will be returning. The price point was fair at about $15 after tax for the Turkey Wing meal pictured.
