Yia Yia's Taverna

Great food and great service! We stopped in for dinner and had such a nice time, everyone was so kind and the food came to the table quick. The Spanakopita was probably my favorite, but the lamb was also cooked perfectly. We will be back!

For 5 years now, I’ve willingly have traveled over an hour to dine at Yia Yia’s and it still remains as the best Greek culinary experience in all of NYC. As someone who travels back and forth to Greece, I know my Greek food and this is one of the best there is. Not only is the food amazing, the service here is unlike anything you’ll experience elsewhere. The warm and caring hospitality from the owners and staff is truly exceptional, making every visit feel like home. From the perfectly grilled octopus to the hearty chicken souvlaki platter and the comforting moussaka, each dish is fantastic. This place is one of my favorite eateries in all of NYC because they have it all - food, drink and service, which keeps me coming back, again and again. Trust me, make the trip. You won't regret it. We stopped in for a quick dinner - first time for all 5 of us and we were NOT disappointed! Everything was amazing! Grilled octopus was so delicious!! Service was also great! Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

I went here for date night and it was a great experience. 10/10 would recommend, the food was great, the service was welcoming and the music was fire. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond when they noticed my boyfriend was not a fan of the galaktoboureko, as he tried it for the first time. His review is not valid bc he’s a picky eater lol. But they came over and handed him a different dessert to try which definitely hit the spot for him. Definitely coming back when in the area!!

We were in the mood for Greek and this place was perfect. YiaYia’s is cozy and comfortable. The staff made us feel so at home- even gifting us an extra drink each, on the house for new years. They were attentive and quick. The lamb gyro Greek salad was a huge portion and exactly what I was looking for. The tableside extra topper of olive oil was a nice touch. The avgolemono soup was great for a cold night. It’s a great spot for a casual dinner!
