Yellowtail Japanese Bistro

Back again! A year later and theWaitress with short hair was not too friendly is gone! But the Sushi chef is still there and he’s the rock star of the place. Food is great sushi is top notch and all the staff were really friendly. They have some deals on Saturdays and for google reviews. Ask the wait staff. Never talk to the Sushi chef unless you’re drinking sake with them.

My boyfriend introduced me to this place about a year ago when he lived in Fairfield. We moved to Linden and now we take a weekly trip to this place, honestly has been the best sushi place we’ve found. Its about 35 mins to an hour drive(depending on traffic) but its worth it. Their sushi boats are so freaking cute and honestly the prices for the amount of sushi and quality are is great.

Needed a new local sushi spot and I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Came in on a Sunday night without reservations and were seated right away. Everything was very good. We ordered the tempura platter as an appetizer which came with w pieces of shrimp, a sweet potato, a zucchini, an onion ring and a carrot. We had few specialty rolls (#36, #1, #6). I appreciated they had pictures next to their specialty rolls. My only gripe was that the fish on one of the rolls was really cold. We also ordered sashimi. The fatty tuna and salmon were actually my favorites. They only have bottled water for purchase so we just ended up getting green tea which was at no cost. For dessert we had matcha mochi and vanilla fried ice cream which was a perfect way to end the meal.

I’m quite impressed with Yellowtail. You’d never know it looking at it from the outside but this place is fantastic. Google has it as a high 4, and I have to agree. First ambiance/atmosphere, rated this a five, It is nicely decorated with wall painting and nice lighting. The music playing was very nice as well. Second the service, our server was pleasant and very attentive, and the sushi chefs seemed to take great care with preparation of the meal. Third, the food. The food was delicious, we ordered a salmon don, a sashimi regular, shumai, and a Kani salad. All were delicious and the selection of sashimi was great. Overall five stars.

This is my new Sushi Ramen spot everything was spectacular, the pizza sushi the Bulgogi Ramen, Crab Passion real mango on the Caribbean 🫶🏽
