Yankee Diner 2025

If you like classic diners? They dont get more classic than this! Built in 1939, The Yankee Diner moved around Massachusetts a bit through the 40s and 50s and now resides in Charlton, Massachusetts and is under the ownership of the fabulous Phuong and her husband! Great menu amd great coffee and great people. A+

Yankee Diner has a comfortable, classic diner atmosphere that feels familiar and laid-back. The service was friendly and reasonably attentive, which was a highlight. Unfortunately the food was the weak point — my meal came out lukewarm and the flavors were pretty underwhelming for a diner that should be known for its comfort food. Hope they can improve the kitchen quality because the overall vibe is there.

First time here having driven by it for years. The new owners were friendly and stopped to check on us and make sure everything was OK. The food was very good. We had our usual breakfast, scrambled eggs, toast, home fries and a breakfast sandwich of egg, cheese and bacon on a bulky roll. All were delicious. The coffee was good, too. The server checked up often to top it off for us. We will definitely be back. UPDATE: We went for breakfast today, almost a year later. The owner welcomed us back with a friendly greeting. Not only did she remember us, she remembered our order. We'll certainly return, sooner than later! The food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and friendly.

Soo nice! We stopped here on the road from Boston to NY. Such a cute little place, the lady who served us was so friendly and lovely, and the food was great (crab cake omelette and french toast). Bottomless coffee of course :) great little diner !

Went for breakfast. Very cute place, but the food was horrible. First of all, the cook needs to scrape the heck out of that griddle. Everything on my plate was covered in black, carbonized bits of oil and food. It was awful. I don’t know how both the cook and the server see that and think “this is ok”. During very crowded times and if the cook is inexperienced, some of this is expected. But only a few tables were being served and the amount of carbonized oil all over my food was over the top. Black. Secondly, I don’t know what else was on the griddle but everything on my plate tasted like seafood. I didn’t order seafood, why did my eggs and potatoes smell and taste like it? We’re not going back, I definitely don’t recommend it.
