Simple and flavorful. The gentleman really wants you to enjoy your meal so he will ask if you will eat it right away or a little later so he will package your food differently. Gives you a little cultural background on how the dish came to be so you really appreciate your food.
Hands down the most DELICIOUS meal we had on our trip to Washington DC! The owner was incredibly kind and charismatic, explaining the history of the dish and ensuring we had a 5-star experience. Love that it’s vegan AND filling and yummy. The flavor, spice, and texture of the dish were fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop by!
The best Koshary in the DMV. Super flavorful and filling. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. He explained every aspect of the dish to us.
I’ve never had Koshary before. I wanted to try it on a recent trip to the Middle East but I wasn’t able to make it to the restaurant I picked out so when I got back to DC I was determined to find a place that serves it. So glad I found this place. The dish is so delicious and the flavor and texture combination is addicting. I am already planning to go back next weekend. I love that it’s vegan too but feels substantial enough to keep you full. Inshallah they open a brick & mortar at some point so I can have it more often. I also got the hibiscus drink which was somewhat similar to how they make it in Mexico. Highly recommend with the Koshary it goes well.
This is a food stall at the market. The customer service was on point. It was lovely to learn about the history of the dish and the passion of the staff was so nice. We were surprised how tasty and filling it was. Worth a stop by if you like to learn the history of your food and bold flavors!
