We were walking around Japantown on a Wednesday evening and decided to stop by Yakitori Edomasa for dinner. The space is small with a classic Japanese izakaya feel—lively, a bit noisy, but casual and approachable. Our server asked if it was our first visit and kindly walked us through the menu. We ordered a few appetizers and a selection of skewers. Standouts included the A5 wagyu skewer (nightly special), which was rich and well-marbled, the thick-cut beef tongue with great texture and tenderness, as well as the gizzard and meatball. The pork belly, chicken heart, and momo were just okay and leaned a bit dry. Among the appetizers, the chicken skin and fried shishito peppers were enjoyable. The chicken liver mousse had a strong gamey flavor and wasn’t for us. One thing to note is some i
The food at yakitori edomasa was great. Very authentic and delicious. Service was very friendly and efficient. We got the unagi bowl, kaisen and kushiyaki annd appetizers of karage and soshito peppers. The salads were refreshing and dashi broth and paitan soup were warm and yummy. The yakitori was nice and smoky from the charcoal grill. In particular I loved the eel and octopus sticks. Steak was also nice. I will be back for sure. Also got some saporro and tea.
First time to dine here and I am one happy diner. The servings were huge for the price. The Kushiyaki Teishoku was delicious - the skewers were well seasoned and not dry and I enjoyed the variety of sides . The kid’s meal was surprisingly big plus there was a free toy. Customer service was great—everyone was friendly and welcoming. The place felt cozy and homey too. Overall, great value for money, delicious food, and wonderful service. I’d happily come back again.
Cute spot, with a nice ambiance and overall vibe to it. The small bites are great and delicious. It is a bit pricy for the amount of food you are getting compared to other spots in Japantown. So although it is not the best bang for your buck I would still suggest a try if you are in the area. The set menu goes for $30 and gives a nice variety to try. Always happy to have a no-brainer option to try a restaurant.
Yakitori Edomasa delivers a focused menu of grilled chicken skewers from thigh and skin to heart set in a compact, izakaya bar-style counter space. The $30 set comes with soup, rice and assorted skewers. Good sake selection. Casual yet precise, ideal for yakitori lovers or a relaxed night out.
