First time at Yabas and will be back so soon! It was really busy, but owner/staff were extremely attentive towards guests and efficient with service flow. Food was delicious— had a cup of lentil soup while I waited and it was one of the best soups I’ve had ever. Kafta sandwich and falafel both great— I wish I had remembered to order extra sauces tho. Baklava was on the house bc I had to wait a little longer for my order. The gesture wasn’t expected, but truly was the cherry on top of a great take-out experience. Thank you!!
We stumbled onto Yaba's during the polar vortex on a whim, to escargot the cold. This man's shop was a godsend, his lentil soup was flavorful and perfect for the artic winds. Both our dishes were delicious and had just the right seasoning amount of seasons. In retrospect, I wished I got the schwarma as it was a beefed up version the kebab. I got the chicken kebab My lady got the Chicken Schwarma
I’m so glad I got to try this food! I saw they were on the news and when I went to order the owner let me know they were on the news the day before too! Wow! The owner even gave me a cup of soup while I was waiting and on the cold day it was so refreshing and good. I got the chicken shawarma plate and goodness it was so delicious! It comes with a generous scoop of hummus, a little salad, garlic sauce, and rice. It’s all a great portion for a great price! I will be back, I’m already craving it lol.
Food in the back of a small grocery store is often the best. It's family run, and they gave us a free cup of lentil soup because it was so incredibly cold, the guy was very nice. The soup and chicken shawarma were both fantastic. Good tzatziki too. I'll be back to try the falafel, it's supposed to be some of the best in the city. Good price too!
Kitchens at the back of convenience stores are a gem. Very flavorful lentil soup, kafta kebab plate lunch special (all day), falafel, complete with soft and chewy yellow rice, side salad, pickled cucumbers and radish, hummus topped with olive oil and flat bread. Comes with a drink. Very nice staff. Eager to try the rest of the menu.
