Xelaju´s Bakery

Just like true Guatemalan tamales, paches, the bread (pan francés and champurradas) is spectacular! Saturday afternoon was perfect to eat in their front yard that has 5-6 tables!! Tamales para llevar! Yummy!

What a wonderful surprise! Wanting a small breakfast, Xelaju's Bakery's pastry section was perfect. They have a variety of pastries, but their chocolate chip muffin was delicious. It was big, moist, and not too sweet. All the chocolate chips are in the muffin top. It cost just under $2.50. They accept credit card. There are a few tables inside and service is great!

This Guatemalan bakery is such an asset for the community. It always smells nice, and everything I've tasted from here has been top tier (their lengua tacos were soooooo good) I'm obsessed with the corn muffins topped with almonds and the coconut topped bread (I don't know the specific name for it!) I think it's amazing that you can get a breakfast pastry and some atol de elote for under $7 on the way to work.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go in and get some food. I wanted to get a couple of pics for my housemate, who is a big fan of bakeries. I was impressed that the owner came out to chat with me and let me know about the restaurant. The aroma was wonderful. I will definitely be going back soon for breakfast and dinner.

One of the best places to come in the dmv. Chile Relleno one of my favorite things in the menu. Hospitality, quality food, has everything you need. You feel at home away from home!
