Wooden Nickel

AMAZING food, great staff, and a nice sized menu to choose from. Good pricing and food came out pretty quick. The atmosphere was great and the place has very cool decorations. Definitely a new favorite. I got the Woody Burger and fries. Very good. Update from second time going: Still AMAZING! I recommend the BBQ beef with Cajun sauce. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had!

The Bananas Foster was amazing! I want to say that our waitress was very sweet and tried really hard. I was overall very happy with the service. She was just a bit inexperienced, and im sure will do wonderfully as a server with more time and practice. All of our food was great.

This place is a gem. Greeted before the door closed. Food was flavorful. I'm a big fan and critic of sweet tea and they have some good sweet tea. We had the bbq beef sandwich and the lasagna. They were both good. Friendly atmosphere. Not sure what the history is but I bet there is some interesting stories.

We were out on a Daytrip and drove through Kirksville looking for a locally owned "Mom and Pop" type of place to stop and get something for Lunch. After driving around the Town Square a couple of times we spotted the Wooden Nickel and decided to give it a try. What a gem this place is! My wife ordered the Eggplant Parmesan that came with a side of Fettucine/Marinara sauce. I got the Grilled BBQ Kielbasa Sandwich with some fries. Both of orders came with Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks and a House Salad. The food was amazing!! The Eggplant Parmesan was breaded beautifully and was crispy and full of flavor. The sauce both on the Fettucine and the Eggplant was very good. The Kielbasa was perfectly grilled and the BBQ sauce on it did not overpower the flavor of the Kielbasa and was very tasty. The

We ate here on Friday afternoon in the summer. My tenderloin was very good and the fries were very good. I liked the house dressing on the salad. The atmosphere was okay and the waitress was very busy and all alone while trying to wait on too many tables. She was doing her best but it would have probably been better if she had some help. My wife loved her fries and the tartar sauce but the fish was not her favorite. My daughter had the breaded chicken sandwich but she was not a fan of all the breading and felt the chicken was a little overcooked. She liked everything else. Overall very good but it could have been a little better.
