Overly portion controlled when everyone knows in the food industry they throw a lot anyways. It’s the chipotle of the DFACs when it comes to rice grain pinching. I’d rather go down the road Chester’s and get a giant tasty burger for 11$
The only bad thing to order here are the fries. The best thing is the mini pizzas. Place is always clean and offers pretty healthy food.
The food was very tasty and the service outstanding. My family was surprised as the modern ambiance and my daughter said she can get used to eating here if she gets assigned to Randolph AFB. Thanks and kudos to the staff! Quite an improvement since my retirement in 2006.
I'm usually a fan of DFACs, but this one is sometimes skimpy for the price. Paper thin "omelette" which was more like a smear of eggs with some mushrooms (will give them credit for the mushrooms being fresh) for $5, and barely as thick as the hash brown patty. They weren't even busy, I was the sole customer... this type of value might be why. The JBMDL DFAC would give you a thick almost restaurant sized omelette for about $3. An argument could be made there's some element of inflation at play, but this was disappointing. The little personal pizzas you can get at lunch here are a decent value, but Wingman Cafe needs to up its game and ensure Airmen are getting bang for their breakfast buck.
Food is always fresh and menu changes so its not same old boring. Will pass PT test when keep coming here for whole food instead of junk food. Healthy choices are plenty including desert like no added sugar Greek yogurt real strawberry cup! For under 8$ I have a Pad Thai veggies bowl, kale cheese chicken wrap and a strawberry geek yogurt oatmeal dessert. Satisfied and only 860 calories total. I have leftovers for dinner.
