Willey's BBQ

My wife and I used to drive down to the previous restaurant site on Ridge road until it was sold in April 2014. It's now downtown Colonial Beach with limited parking. Saturday lunch trip. The dining area was clean and the staff attentive. Seated immediately. The menu is minimal with multiple options besides BBQ. Minced pork BBQ is smokey, moist, and served unsauced. Your sauce options on the table include NC vinegar based, house mild or hot thick sauce. As SC BBQ snobs, we always bring our own Maruice's Southern Gold sauce to any BBQ place. We ordered the BBQ sandwiches with the bun on the side. No ribs available. Sides were coleslaw, bbq beans, and potato salad. All sides were very good but also very small portions/less than half a cup each. The sweet tea was very weak at best. For $45.

Great NC Style BBQ joint in Colonial Beach. Large portions. Good prices. Quick and friendly service. Fried chicken sandwich was great also. They sell bottled domestic beers to wash it all down. I went twice while I was in town. Only a few tables inside but there is covered patio seating.

Stopped to grab a bite to bring back to our VRBO rental after hitting up a local brewery. Wasn't on our list of places to try but got on there by a different eatery being closed. Glad they made the list!!! I ordered a shredded pork sandwich while the pretty lady ordered a grilled chicken sandwhich. We shared a side of the over seasoned steak fries as well. We stayed less than a few minutes up the road so the drive didn't effect the meals. The chicken sandwich was bland according to her and pretty forgettable. I on the other hand LOVE pork sandwhiches and consider myself a snob. The NC pork lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Perfect amount of bite, consistently with the shredded pork, didn't over stuff with pork as to make it edible by fork only. I wish I could order a dozen to take

Been to Willey's a bunch of times and keep forgetting to leave a review. Everything is always fantastic. Got the smoked wings recently and they were hands down the best wings I've ever had.

I don’t recall the last time we received a friendlier welcome at a food establishment. Everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy to see us. We were quickly seated at the outdoor table we requested and promptly greeted by our very attentive server, I believe her name was Nelly. The food was delivered efficiently and was really delicious. We had a wonderful experience. Absolutely recommend.
