We ordered Momos combo (we loved the beef one) plus two veg momos were on the house’; beef shatrak (amazing!); chicken fried rice (very flavorful!); and chicken curry & the server suggested to get the buns to have it with the chicken curry which was great! Ambience was also calm & quiet. Definitely going back again!
Delicious food! I’d definitely come here again. I got the mutton curry as my main dish, which was fantastic, but really everything was great. I would be happy to come here again and try out more things on the menu! My only issue with this place is that you can hear people’s conversations very easily, which you can hear in the video. If they had a way to insulate the sound a bit so it doesn’t reverberate off the walls and travel so easily, I think it could help. Otherwise a wonderful place😊
White yak is a Tibetan restaurant in roxborough, first of its kind in Philly! I really enjoyed the variety of Tibetan food here. We started with mung bean jelly (cold noodle dish) which is super refreshing, 5/5. Then my partner and I shared the combo Momo which includes 3 beef momos, 3 chicken momos and 3 vegetarian momos. The flavors were all different, letting customers to be able to try the vast world of Tibetan/nepalese dumplings. We also ordered thenthuk, hand pulled noodle soup, which is very warming and perfect to have on the rainy day we visited. We washed all of this down with a traditional butter tea, slightly savory with creaminess. The waiter was super friendly. We were able to chat about our individual experiences in Tibet. We would come back again!
stumbled upon this restaurant and saw many locals eating inside so decided to give it a try. we were happy we did. we enjoyed everything we ate. menu highlights: himalayan momos and the chicken curry with the baos for dipping (fun and yummy).
Yes, a new fav! 2nd time ordering from here and everything was flavorful. The lentil soup was hearty with levity and loved the bits of ginger at the bottom of the soup container. The Thenthuk broth cured something in my soul and noodles was the perfect amount of thickness and chewy softness. The beef is more lean than what I would like so I stick with the veggie Thenthuk. The Chili Momo sauce has a kick and builds the more you eat it. I prefer the meat dumplings over the veggies bc the thick dough does a good job soaking up the flavor. The texture of the eggplant in the Gha is more cooked than what I would like but the balance of savory and tangy garlic is wonderful. The steam buns go well dipped in the curry sauce of the Pingsha. Will order again.
