Whistling Swan Inn

Excellent experience with Audry, she was so helpful and accommodating for our "elopement package" mini-wedding! Although we had a host of other issues unrelated to the stay (rental car mainly), she went of her way to make sure we had a good dinner and that she was available for assistance in any way. The room was very nice, extremely quiet, had a comfortable bed, and a wonderful "instant on" gas fireplace that we took good advantage of. The breakfast was also delicious and plentiful! She prepared all the food for our celebratory dinner and it was fantastic! There's also plenty of off-street, private parking in the back. I'd certainly recommend staying here for getaway from the hectic daily grind, or for a celebration like ours! Thanks Audry!

This was my second visit to the Whistling Swan, and it was just as delightful as the first! My husband and I had the Morris Canal room, one of the smallest, but it was plenty big for us. The decor and quality of the restoration at this Victorian home are beautiful, and the winter holiday decorations felt festive and warm. I felt like a princess staying here! Audry makes the most delicious breakfasts, and we enjoyed talking to her as well as other lovely guests from the US and the UK. We will definitely come again! The outside photos do not do justice to the exquisite beauty of the interior. Parking is easy, and Stanhope is a cute little town, just 15 minutes from Chester, with its many quaint shops and restaurants. Beautiful sturdy old house, well-maintained. Audrey is a very gracious host. The bed was firm but comfortable. Breakfasts were fabulous! Nice location, too, in a small town. There is a lovely nature trail nearby on the historic Morris Canal.

The Lenape suite for the price was an absolute bargain. Great bed and double shower was a good bonus. The whole house was beautiful since I always find Victorian style superior to modern anytime. Audry was the perfect host and breakfast was phenomenal. Made the our 25th anniversary unforgettable. Thank you 😊

Spent New Year's Eve here and it was a delight. The Harmony Suite was well-appointed and the jacuzzi was great. The bed was comfy. Dinner at Bell's Mansion right down the street, then a delicious breakfast the next morning served by Audry. Great stay!
