First visit to Whistle Stop in Mountain Top. I am trying their chicken wing pizza today. It is definitely an interesting take on chicken wing pizza. It's topped with finely chopped breaded chicken. At first I was on the fence but after eating it more it started to grow on me. The finely chopped pieces do add a nice crunch to the pizza.
I placed an order to pick up. Two medium pizzas. One with half pepperoni and on the other side onion. The other medium pizza was a white pizza, along with a dozen wings. They charged $53.00 Outrageous! I got home with this overpriced food and discovered instead of pepperoni they put mushrooms on one side. ( did I say both pies were like lukewarm) Additionally the wings came with 11 flats and 1 drumstick. One more thing, the pizza was so thin you could put it up to a light and see thru it. lol . I called to voice my concerns and they hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and go to several other pizza shops on the mountain. One last thing , this place is cash only. Why would you do that. Hmm. lol
Geraldo the owner was there. What a treat! Funny, happy and definitely Italian lol. Wings, extra crispy, we're large and very good. Settle on hot, mild or barbecue sauce thought. Round pie with onions and sausage. I thought it was good too. Toppings end to end, lol round pie. Help yourself to drinks, kinda nice. No wait. Warm atmosphere, very clean and plenty to look at. The staff is great. Knows what's going on. That really matters. Give them a try!
This was our second time having pizza and wings at the Whistle Stop and it won't be our last. The pizza is very tasty and has a thin ,crispy crust. The wings were super crispy and delicious.
Inconsistent. When it's good, it's good, but half the time, the pizza is dried out and not hot. Some of the food on the side from the Amish is old and should be in a fridge. It is expensive with $15 for a pizza that is barely edible 50% of the time. There are a few good places anymore. The homey atmosphere is nice, with trains and nice old tables. Always clean and friendly. I'm at the point though if the pizza is bad I call them and tell them. And I'm probably not going to even go there anymore. The hometown Farmers Market has their food truck there and that pizza is very good but it's $4 for one small piece of pizza. Although, when I was there I got an old slice the one day that was overcooked and I didn't like that much but it was still better than what's coming out of the restaurant, th
