This was a high end but unfussy dining experience. We enjoyed our appetizers. Mine: an arugula salad with goat cheese, golden and red beets and walnut vinaigrette. His: ancho grilled jumbo shrimp with a lemon basil aioli drizzle. We enjoyed our entrees. Mine: Maine lobster tail and claw meat over a crab cake in a spring roll basket, which was delicious. The tail was slightly tough at one end, but it was easily cut with a knife and fork. His: grilled filet mignon, frites and creamed spinach with bacon. He said he would have liked less pink as it was closer to rare than the medium he ordered. That being said, he said it was delicious. Dessert we both selected was a precious Valentine-themed vanilla ice cream filled white chocolate heart with a smaller, pink white chocolate raspberry coulis-f

We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately our New Year’s Eve experience was a major disappointment. We booked the NYE prix fixe menu, which was grossly overpriced for the quality delivered. To start, the menu posted online did not match what we were given at the table. If you had chosen this restaurant anticipating specific dishes—like the Chilean sea bass—you would have been disappointed before the meal even began. The food itself lacked quality across the board. The fried calamari was clearly frozen and indistinguishable from what you’d get at a chain restaurant. I ordered the lobster entrée; the presentation was beautiful and gave me hope, but that quickly faded. The first two bites were decent, then the texture became so tough I needed a steak knife to

Not perfect, but definitely top shelf. Food quality was superb, although portions are on the average or small side. Avoid the scallops & fig appetizer, the scallops were mushy and drenched in a gooey sauce. The pesto fettuccine with shrimp was incredible and a food highlight of our trip. Butter pecan gelato for dessert was also excellent. Service is very professional, friendly and attentive. It's BYOB, and the staff handles all uncorking, putting the bottles on ice, etc. There are two rooms and the smaller room is typically quieter but both can get extremely busy and noisy when there are large parties seated. If one gets unbearable, try the other if there is space. A definite foodie highlight in Spring Lake. Expensive, but recommended if you can splurge.

I have been going to whispers about once a season for probably 5 years now. It used to be a special place with great service and food. However over the last few years I have noticed a massive drop off in the quality of the food, pricing and ownership (the service is still very good and that is helping stop the bleeding). But the drop in the quality of the food in combination with the increased pricing has totally removed the how special this place use to be. The last straw was getting charged for small, average rolls. When you pay $60 or more for an entry you can give a customer a roll. Stop with the penny pinching. Additionally the owner seems more preoccupied with his real estate business. I spoke to him briefly at my last meal (late June) and all he talked about was local and Fla real e

One of our favorite restaurants. We have been here so many times throughout the 30 years that they've been a restaurant. The main reason we love this restaurant is how quiet it is. The carpeting really helps keep the conversation noise down. It's extremely romantic and worth going to on a special date. Nicholas, the owner is always so friendly. This year they sent me an email and because of that we made Thanksgiving reservations there. I have never had such moist and delicious turkey ever. Everything was fantastic! Matt, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. We even had a high school graduation party here. They also have a private room for private parties. Parking is easy in the street. The decor is really beautiful. Most of the tables are for two people, 4 people maximum. It's a ver
