Whiskerwood Haven

My daughter and I visited Whiskerwood Haven on a Tuesday evening and what a find! The space itself is beautifully designed these cats are living their best lives with climbing trees, cozy nooks, and plenty of room to play or nap. My daughter was in heaven, and even I found myself completely charmed. What makes this place special is the genuine care behind it. The owner clearly isn’t just running a café he’s built something meaningful for the community and these animals. Hearing they’ve already facilitated 40+ adoptions in just five months speaks volumes. If you’re looking for a way to spend an hour in the city, or if you’re considering adding a furry family member, this is the place. We left smiling, and I have a feeling we’ll be back soon.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This is exactly how I feel cat cafes, although I guess it could be considered more of a “hangout” should operate! Now that I think of it, there was no coffee served. Which is nice because there’s no fear of getting cat hair in my coffee! I love the sentiment behind Whiskerwood Haven, that each cat is up for adoption and the staff (and I think possibly owner as well?) seem to deeply care about their quality of life. When one of the cats had a confirmed adoption, the owner rang a bell and announced the adoption to the entire cafe. I feel like the purpose behind Whiskerwood Haven is strong, they’re mission driven and the goal is to rescue, socialize, and adopt out their resident kitties. Whiskerwood Haven is a hidden gem! You get to play with cats for 30 minutes only for 15 dollars! And the cool thing is that all of the cats here are up for adoption. The cats are so friendly, calm, and gentle. If I had the means, I would adopt all of them! The staff here are also really helpful and nice! If you're visiting San Francisco or a local resident, definitely check this place out!

We visited Whiskerwood Haven for the first time this weekend, and we really enjoyed the experience. Online reservation is easy and straightforward, I made reservation for a group of 7. At 1:30pm Saturday, there were about 7 other guests in the room for the earlier session. The room is very spacious and clean, some cats were enjoying their afternoon naps while others were playing. They were all very relaxed and friendly.

Edited to add: Well, we ended up adopting two kittens! The adoption process was super easy and everyone has been so helpful. Would highly recommend adopting from Whiskerwood Haven when you're looking for your next furry family member. An awesome rescue center with the sweetest cats! We weren't ready to adopt just yet but we had the best time meeting all the kitties and playing with them. The owner is an incredibly kind person as well. We will be back for sure!
