I had the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had in my whole life today! Way to go Wheatfields! My wife's hash browns were a little well done but the ham and eggs were perfect! My sons and grandson's meals were very good. They had a half of a Belgian waffle, eggs, bacon and a roll and a sweet roll
Wheatfields was recommended to us by friends -- that was a great suggestion! Service was good and the food was delicious. And they have cool light fixtures. I ordered the Butcher Shoppe Quiche which comes with a Struedel and a side of baked apples. For my Struedel, I choose Blueberry. It was served with fresh, housemade whipped cream -- totally delectable! The quiche was great too, with plenty of chunked ham and a good-sized sausage. The accompanying hollandaise sauce was terrific to boot! My wife had the Omaha's French Dip. Healthy amounts of thin-sliced tender beef topped with Swiss cheese filled a long baguette and she liked the au jus flavor too. We plan to return in the future.
Had their entire menu many times. Including desserts. Not a bad thing to say. The owners and staff are wonderful people. The hidden gems are the soups. The chicken jalepeno is sensational. Nice dining room as well. No matter what meal you want, you will be satisfied
Went here for dinner last weekend with a couple friends and overall it was a pretty solid experience. The place has a relaxed American vibe, nothing fancy but comfortable. I ordered a burger with fries and it came out hot and cooked the way I asked, which I apreciated. Fries were crispy, maybe a little salty but still good. Service was friendly and not rushed, though it did take a bit for refills when it got busy. Prices felt fair for the portion sizes. Not the best meal I’ve ever had, but definitely a place I wouldn’t mind coming back to again.
May have once been great like 20 years ago, but is not even a shadow of its former self. Food quality, portions, and value are horrible. Service is terrible, which can be attributed to poor management. They haven’t spruced up the place in decades - seats are splitting and falling apart. You’d think a place with a bakery would have decent coffee. You’d be wrong. Don’t get fooled - stay away!
