My wife, mother in law, uncle and I met some other family members from Texas at this Western Sizzling for lunch. Located in Altus, OK, the restaurant has a buffet style lunch available as well as a menu. All of our party had the buffet. There were many items available on the buffet and all that I had were cooked correctly, not cold or dried out and tasted good! I have to mention the fried chicken which was excellent! The lunch buffet was priced right at $9.99 per person. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks full and the table cleared of dirty dishes. The entire staff was on the ball and appeared to keep everything running smooth! The facility was pretty clean and well maintained! This Western Sizzlin is set up more like a Golden Corral. You don’t wind through the line, while perusing the picture menus on the wall like we did back in the day. You order at a counter, just like at Golden Corral. You also can’t get a big steak then get the buffet and salad bar at a discount. You CAN get a small steak on the side at a discount when purchasing the buffet and salad bar. I was hoping to relive some childhood Western Sizzlin memories, but that didn’t happen here. The steak was cooked the way I ordered it, and the buffet and salad bar did not disappoint. The location just missed the mark on the old Western Sizzlin goodness I remember.

Western Sizzlin’ used to be a decent steakhouse, so we stopped by and noticed the sign also said xxx”buffet” - we aren’t a fan of over-cooked, mushy cafeteria food but we cautiously paid. But the pot roast and veggies were hot and decent, the salad bar okay, and I even enjoyed a slice of coconut cream pie. Decor was worn-out and tired from twenty years ago and the whole place unfortunately smelled like a musty retirement home dining hall, at best. (We didn’t try the steak)

The food was very good, I got a filet and it was very tasty Lisa got beef tips with peppers and onions they were too salty they had no problem to change it to a 6 oz sirloin which was very good. The waitress was very friendly and was very nice no problems at all to change the meat. We were very happy overall.
