Wayra Roots

One of the best meals we had in Miami! While we enjoyed the entire vibrant farmers market, the highlight was definitely Wayra Roots, a haven for plant-based meals made with care and great vibes. Their specialty is yucca-based arepas (rather than corn-based) made into hot fresh sandwiches with healthy ingredients. We loved the blue oyster mushroom chimichurri sandwich and the black bean plantain sandwich. Everything was low in oil and high in flavor. The yucca cookies were also delicious. They have a seating area behind the farmers market stand where we enjoyed our meals in the presence of a live guitarist.

My go to place every Sunday morning! If you’re looking for a healthy and delicious meal go and try Wayra roots! My favorites are the gluten free pancakes with their homemade nutella, the refreshing lemonade and the cocada which is 100% dairy free. The owners do an amazing job bringing together all this organic and natural ingredients to create very enjoyable and tasteful food!

The food is absolutely delicious, their blue oysters, yuca arepa, lemonade, and cocada are outstanding. Not only is the food top-notch, but the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by Carla and Cesar adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your experience. One of the things I love about Wayra Roots is that they also have tables and chairs under the shade, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your food. Delicious food ! Consistently tasty, well done, and healthy. It’s owned by a couple that really embody holistic living and want to feed you good food for your body and soul. Ask for the hot sauce if you get the arepa. They have seating for their customers as well.
