We went here for the first time since moving to Iowa and it didn't disappoint. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder and both of us decided we were in a fish and chips mood. The clamp chowder was pretty good and the fish and chips were also pretty decent. Their prices are very reasonable as well. We went there over the weekend at 11am and it was filling up quickly. Our waitress said they have a weekend special for oysters and shrimp that folks come in for. There are so many dishes we want to try so I know we'll be back soon for round 2. There's not many seafood forward places in Des Moines so this place is a 'catch'!
Been a while but did not disappoint! Shrimp cocktail was delicious. Cajun halibut was very good! Salmon was good too. Server was amazing!
Best sea food I have had in a long time! Esp the fried Oysters. Ray was an amazing and made sure everything was served to perfect! Everyone was so gracious from host through dining. Also THANK YOU for having bread plate. So classy….We’ll be back!
This was a go to for many years for us. Unfortunately after several uninspired meals we will likely be seeking another place for our seafood meals. The way they handle guests waiting is chaotic at best. The time it took for our server to come to our table after being seated was excessive. The server made us feel more like an inconvenience than anything. Drinks took a long time to get, but the food was out in a timely manner. My husband’s food was okay but lacked flavor. My scallops were good but the shrimp was barely edible. I left having genuine concern if the two I had eaten were even safe. The restaurant has been running on reputation for many years but the truth is that the atmosphere is tired, and lack luster so when the food is marginal it just does not justify our time and resources
Our # 1 restaurant. Never had a bad meal. Always a great selection. Love the opportunity to try different fish and different preparations.
