Washington Tavern

We were passing through and needed a place to rest, eat and have a drink. It was absolutely beautiful outside and we had our dog Dixie with us so we needed a place that had outdoor seating. As it turns out, this place was perfect! Everyone there was super nice and polite. They kept the food coming, the drinks flowing and even brought refreshments for our fur baby. The food was fantastic! I had the Shrimp Po’boy and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! I don’t make it to Washington, Ga very often but when I do, I will certainly be stopping in here again and I highly suggest you do the same!

Excellent food on a quaint setting. Limited menu which usually means great food, they did not disappoint!! Super tasty French fries, obviously fresh fryer oil! Excellent shrimp Po boy!! We will return!

This is a very nice resorted building and it looks like they are adding additional seating in a porch style venue.I enjoyed an appetizer sampler and 6 wings with Bourbon Bacon sauce and a side of fries. The Arnold Palmer was on point. There is one thing that needs to be addressed by the owner and staff. The salt and pepper shakers were so sticky with grease and grime. They need to be run through a dishwasher and sanitized frequently. These were bad enough I had to wash my hands from picking them up prior to eating. Otherwise things were okay.

We love Jeremy, Stephanie, and the whole team at Washington Tavern. They are always so welcoming, remember our favorites, and greet us with a smile. We have tried almost everything on the menu and everything is delicious. The trivia on Thursday nights is fun and we enjoy sitting on the patio when the weather permits.

We visit the Tavern from Waynesville NC as often as we are able. This is our go-to place for fantastic meal, mixed drinks, and great service. Relaxing atmosphere & welcoming owner and staff.
