Victorian Loft Bed & Breakfast

This was an amazing stop on a trip from Fargo, North Dakota, to Groton, Connecticut. As a native Pennsylvanian (though from the opposite, more urbanized corner of the Commonwealth), I had been curious about Clearfield for some time, having driven I-80 quite a bit, over the years. The city has a well-defined downtown area, and the establishment is within easy walking distance of all of it. The proprietor, Ms. Durant, is gracious and attentive, and the house itself is remarkable in its decor and upkeep. Breakfast is the highlight of the stay and really deserving of appreciation. My trip was this past August, but I could easily imagine going back at any point in the year, especially knowing how picturesque this part of PA can be in the fall and winter.

A+++++++ August 2023, My husband and I stayed in the second floor Bedroom that has one Queen bed and 1 full size Bed. Check-in was super easy with Peggy. Parking was simple --you park on the side of the house. She had candy and warm, delicious cookies in our bedroom. The bathroom is located next door and there is a curtain that you draw In order to have privacy to and from your bathroom, Water pressure was fantastic. Peggy showed us around the house and also showed us a balcony that we could sit outside and enjoy coffee in the morning if we would like. The room was beautifully decorated. The home is very lovely and decorated with lots of beautiful antiques. We felt like we were staying with a FAVORITE relative! A beautiful Victorian home, the owners have decorated with Victorian antiques, china and it all wraps up to give the traveler an elegant experience. Our room came with the balcony that we sat on several times enjoying the late summer weather. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was always fantastic and she offers many homemade breads, jams, fruit and more. Just delicious and a wonderful hostess. Conversations at Breakfast with the other guest was such a treat. We will stay with Peggy the next time we are in Clearfield. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Victorian Loft Bed & Breakfast! We were in town visiting a family member who recently received a devastating health update. We can’t say enough about how much it meant to us to have a quiet, peaceful place to stay during our visit. As soon as we arrived, it felt as if we were transported back in time. The home is equally as beautiful on the inside, as it is on the outside! So many amazing details, from the ornate dark wood staircase, stain glass window, decorative wallpaper, furniture indicative of the Victorian era, as well as some personal belongings of family members from days gone by, on display that we were able to take in. We were greeted by Peggy, who was very gracious and made us feel extremely welcomed. She had homemade chocolate chip

I stayed in the room with a balcony, which had two sufficiently spacious beds. Everything was very cozy, and the decor was fitting for the age of the property. I truly appreciate these experiences in historic (Victorian) homes that now operate as bed and breakfasts. The bathroom was private but not accessible directly from the room itself; however, it was relatively private thanks to a curtain the owners put up to separate the area. I must also highlight the beautiful view and tranquility from the balcony. And of course, the exceptional kindness of the owner (Peggy), who not only took the time to prepare a delicious breakfast each morning but also joined us and shared incredible stories about the house and her family.
