Van's Pig Stands

A fantastic place, a must see to experience while in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Great barbecue of all types. This location is the original Van’s pig stand in Shawnee, Oklahoma. My father proposed marriage to my mother here back in the late 1950s. I always stop here for a bite to eat when I’m in town and enjoy the atmosphere service and food.

Food was perfect! Delicious brisket, delicious macaroni & cheese, potato salad was great. Per my husband, the coleslaw was great, fries tasted a lot better than they looked, meat was perfect (he got ribs, links, & brisket). Great variety & selection of sauces.

We live in Norman but I took my family to Vans after my daughter’s archery meet at the middle school last year . Everything was just as good as I remembered it. Vans will always have a special place in my heart! I was a hostess for The Charcoal Room back in 2005 when Jerry was still with us. She’s got another meet in Shawnee this Saturday and we plan to eat there again! Maybe this time I can talk someone into letting me peak downstairs into the old Charcoal Room for old times sake? 🙂

It's the OG Vans. Solid lunch special. That pulled pork is great. Burgers are surprisingly awesome. You get a huge portion of French fries. Several bbq flavors to choose from . Go get you some

Not impressed. Way over priced for dry/hard meat, runny coleslaw and store bought potato salad. Why do I have to tip when all you do is take my order?? No option for no tip. I make my drinks, get my food and clean up after myself!! Also the restaurant was dirty and there was alot of employees just standing around. There was only 1 table of 3 and us in there.
