Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Amazing ice cream shop. Not gonna lie, this is one of the best ice creams I have ever tried. We got waffle bowl with three scoops: chocolate, strawberry and coffee affogato. All of them were delicious. I was surprised by the taste of strawberry one, it is so creamy with the pleasant notes of strawberry. The best strawberry ice cream I tried. Waffle is amazing, sweet and crispy. The place itself is nice, it’s clean inside, they also have a restroom. The staff is friendly, and they provide generous portions of samples. Definitely will come back and try other flavors!

Ice cream was so tasty. Definitely satisfied my late night craving. Cammie and Diego also made this experience really great! Will for sure be coming back again.

Van Leeuwen has expanded into West LA with its new outlet on Montana Ave. This location is particularly excellent for vegans, offering a comprehensive vegan menu. Situated in a prime area of Montana, the vibe is undoubtedly trendy. The interior features a few tables and seats for enjoying your ice cream right there. In my view, the standout feature of their ice cream is the waffle cone, which truly makes a difference. Last, they also offer an online allergy guide, which is the first time I see that and left me with a good impression on how serious they are with allergies. While it may not be my top ice cream choice in town, it's certainly my second favorite.

Overall decent ice cream but not a place I would return to. Staff is friendly and helpful with samples and questions. I ordered the waffle bowl with pumpkin cheesecake and the vegan banana pudding, about $11. I will say this is one of the best waffle bowls I've eaten. Fresh, not too crispy with that slight softness, and amazing vanilla and spiced flavors. The ice cream scoops were a bit hard and not as creamy as I hoped. But neither was overly sweet (albeit the pumpkin cheesecake being sweeter than the banana). And I appreciated the pronounced flavors of each scoop.
