I recently visited Urban Indian Restaurant in Tampa, Florida, and overall the experience was very mixed. While there were a couple of decent items, both the food and service left a lot of room for improvement. I ordered the Paneer Butter Masala, which is usually a reliable, comforting dish at most Indian restaurants. Unfortunately, this version missed the mark. The flavor was very different from what you’d expect from a traditional paneer butter masala—and not in a good way. The gravy lacked richness, depth, and seasoning. It tasted flat and underwhelming, almost as if key spices were missing. The paneer itself was fine, but the sauce didn’t complement it at all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delicious Food & Kind Service I recently visited Urban Indian Restaurant in Tampa, and the food was absolutely delicious! The Butter Shrimp was incredible — rich, creamy, and full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. You can tell the chef puts real care into the dishes. The service was a little on the slow side, but honestly, it was easy to overlook because the lady helping us was so warm, friendly, and genuine. She clearly cares about her customers and made sure we were comfortable and happy once things picked up. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience — amazing food made with love and heartfelt service. I’ll definitely be coming back for that Butter Shrimp again! 🍤❤️

Iam not sure how this eatery has such a high rating . I wish to share my point wise feedback with screenshot of timer attached : We first went inside and requested a table which was provided to 2 of us and told us it will take roughly 10 to 12 minutes to server after ordering. The table was completely empty . Almost 5 to 10 minutes we waited for someone to come and take order , we called the passing by receptionist who was taking order to take our order, she abruptly stopped me and said will come . It took almost 5+ minutes to take our order or even more , I at this point started recording timer . We ordered lamb pepper fry, 2 mango lassi and goat biryani . Amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious—rich flavors, perfectly spiced, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we tried was outstanding, and you can truly taste the care and authenticity in the cooking. The service was warm and welcoming, which made the evening even better. One small thing that would’ve made the experience even more enjoyable is some background music to enhance the atmosphere. Other than that, everything was fantastic, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

It has been MONTHS SINCE I left this review and no refund, no call from the owner as promised and we are very unhappy and do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Not only are the servers at the restaurant disrespectful. There staff is not helpful and blow you off and tells you to call tomorrow.
