Customer Reviews
Drove by there and decided to stop. It didn’t disappoint at all. The biryani with the white sauce was phenomenal. The samosas with those little peppers were great. Added a nice spice. and the chai was on point.
Urban Express in Phoenix completely blew me away. They serve some of the best Indian snacks I’ve had in years—dosa, biryani, mirchi bajji, punugulu, samosa, everything tastes unbelievably fresh and authentic. I honestly haven’t tasted this level of quality in a long time. The flavors reminded me of home, which is rare these days. I’m from New York, and you can guess that New Yorkers don’t hand out food praise easily. But this place absolutely deserves it. The consistency, the spice balance, and the portion sizes were all perfect. If you love real Indian street-style snacks, Urban Express is a must-visit.
I'm so happy to find this place. It's truly authentic and delicious. Don't be turned off by the super basic dining area. The food is delicious. The Gobi Manchurian is the best I've had in a long time. We've already been here twice and will definitely return.
***DON'T GO HERE***I’ve given this place multiple chances, but unfortunately the experience has been disappointing every time. On three separate visits, I was served frozen food that had simply been reheated, specifically the samosas. Instead of being fresh, crisp, and flavorful, they came out soggy, cold in the middle, and clearly not freshly prepared. This raises serious concerns not only about quality, but also about food safety. Reheating frozen items improperly can be a health risk, and it’s frustrating to spend money on food that doesn’t meet even basic expectations. Based on my repeated experiences, I strongly recommend avoiding this place if you care about your health, your money, and overall food quality. There are plenty of restaurants that serve fresh, properly prepared dishes
The South Indian food was wonderful — with plenty of dosa options, each served hot and fresh straight from the pan. The biryani was absolutely delicious, and the South Indian snacks like punugulu were a real treat. Even the Chinese fried rice was really amazing!
