UNETTO TOKYO PASTA FACTORY

Located on Sawtelle Boulevard, next to Marugame Udon. This is an excellent Japanese Italian fusion restaurant! Featuring Italian dishes with a strong Japanese influence. For starters, I recommend their Japanese potato salad. Creamy mashed potato, with small chunks of potato, and bacon! Absolutely delicious! We loved their Tarako, Ika, Uni pasta: creamy pink sauce with salty fish eggs, mixed with baby squid, and rich Uni (sea urchin). I would also recommend their Crabsolutely Cajun crab, tomato spaghetti. Spicy tomato sauce with a soft shell crab over thick spaghetti noodles.

This place is a great spot for Japanese Italian food. I got the uni & scallop pasta which was full of garlic and the pasta was al dente. It was very delicious and flavorful. The staff was very nice and attentive. The decor was dark and a nice touch to the atmosphere of the Japanese restaurant.

The Baseline: For Japanese restaurant the offerings must have the base ingredients of rice, noodles, fish, chicken, salads (aemono), and garnishes (nori/aenori), preparations must be treated well, and the environment must be welcoming. Food: This is a Japanese and Italian fusion that I have to admit that I may not ever understand. I had the curry spaghetti and the pasta was al dente adjacent on the hard side. The curry sauce was a tad bit watery and made me want the thick clingy curry with some spice. The dish was okay to eat. Service: Decent service. Ambiance: It is like other Sawtelle restaurants in the area. Both seating and no idea about the restrooms. Service: Decent service the day I came. Ambiance: It was a nice restaurant that seams to blend with the rest of the Sawtel

Curry specialist with pasta and rice dishes. They have an Italian fusion thing going on; I came here with a friend for dinner on a weeknight and we split a Hokkaido soup curry with chicken and pasta (there’s a rice option too) and a chicken katsu curry, also with pasta. I liked how well breaded the chicken katsu was; the soup was hearty with a deep flavor. We opted for a level 3 spiciness per our waiter’s recommendation, which was a good call because it was spicy enough for the both of us. Credit cards accepted. Metered street parking and residential parking is available.

It was my third time to come - as always, It was SO GOOD! It reminded me of home- Japanese & Italian fusion. Very comfy & heart warming meals we Japanese like to enjoy. It is different from American Italian food or authentic Italian food but oh my gosh, they did such a good job. Also super affordable for this portion. I hope people will come by and experience their delicious pasta more!!
