If you are looking for a tasty meal, top tier service, and a great experience, this is the place. I have dined here many times and I can only say positive things. This is the best hibachi place I’ve visited and doesn’t compare to anywhere else. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Servers really go above and beyond to give you an incredible dining experience. If you are ever in Indiana you have to stop at Umi! Recommendations: Starters: gyoza, crab rangoon, edamame and the crab volcano. Sushi: Spicy tuna roll, Summer roll, crazy roll and sweet potato roll (if you are not a fish fan) Entrees: Chicken hibachi, Filet mignon hibachi, and chicken yakisoba. (You have to try the clear soup) Dessert: Fried cheesecake and mochi ice cream. Drinks: Piña colada, the strawberry daiquiri and their
I had such a fantastic dinner at Umi Hibachi in Indiana! I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly crispy and hit the spot. The Crocodile Roll was a fantastic (as usual) —super fresh and unique. For my main, the steak and shrimp hibachi was cooked exactly how I like it (steak medium-rare, shrimp perfectly grilled). Combined, the meats and vegetables were tender and full of that savory umami flavor. The portions were large, the atmosphere was great. My wife loves Umi, so we will definitely be heading back again soon.
Great time and great food. Between my son and his girlfriend and me along with my girlfriend we went through 12 rolls. They have a buy one get one 50% promotion on Sunday all day. We only paid about $120 for all those. We got a mix of basic ones to fancy ones. The waiter was great and the rolls came out quickly after we ordered. Our drinks were refilled quickly too.
The show was great and the food was also! My only complaint is that I watched him give 2 other people lots of shrimp while only giving me 3, THREE. And when I asked him and the server why I only got 3, they said it was because I ordered chicken and shrimp. Long story short, it was gonna cost me another $7-ish to get an undetermined number of shrimp. Thankfully one of the ladies with me shared some of her million shrimp with me. I also had a strawberry mojito, suggested by the server, and it was great!!
