Umai Nori

A really strong sushi place with delicious fish, nice service, and very quick takeout! Overall a good value. Note, they put wasabi on all Nigiri unless you ask them not to. We really enjoy sushi and wanted to try some while visiting our sister in DC. I would say that while you’re in DC this is a worthwhile place to visit. We thought the Nigiri tasted quite fresh, and really enjoyed the salmon and the amberjack most. The sea bream did not taste quite as fresh as I’d expect, and the Toro had great flavor, but was not nearly as tender as typical. Stopped by this restaurant for lunch randomly last Friday and I was so impressed!! I got the sushi and nigiri lunch special and my partner got the two traditional rolls and 1 special roll. It was such a great deal and amazing quality. The fish tasted very fresh. The service was also very good. We will definitely start coming here regularly! Loved my experience.

Incredible! The fish is SO fresh, melts in your mouth. The service is above and beyond, shout out to Kay for making my wife’s birthday the most memorable. Also brought my parents here on a visit and they said the sushi was fresher than their favorite spot in Manhattan Beach. See you soon, friends!

not a lot of seating so recommend getting a reservation! even on a Monday night we had to wait 30 mins for a table, but the staff were friendly and attentive. all of the rolls were delicious - especially enjoyed anything that had salmon. For such good quality it wasn’t too expensive!

Had a reservation for 8:25 PM, but these folks said, “Nah, come on in now.” That alone set the vibe right. No awkward waiting, no staring at your phone pretending you’re not hungry—just straight to the table. Staff was welcoming, smooth, and on point, and the sushi? Fresh, flavorful, and worth showing up early for. Respectful, efficient, and delicious. That’s how you do it. 🍣👏
