Ukai Sushi & Ramen

Our absolute favorite sushi restaurant around! The fresh fish and presentation really can’t be beat. The owners take such pride in every detail and we are so grateful we found this gem. The Bears roll and ukai #1 are our favorite, but whenever we try something new, we are always thrilled!!

The spicy miso ramen hit that perfect hot-but-not-too-hot level. The tonkotsu was rich and cozy, like a warm hug on a cold snowy night. And every roll we ordered was a little bite of happiness. Service, though, was a bit “shy.” Nothing bad, just the kind of experience where you start wondering if you should walk over and check on them. A little more friendliness and attention would’ve made the meal perfect.

I visited for a quick sushi and ramen. I liked the sushi but the ramen was a bit salty for me and felt a bit instant as opposed to a rich flavor. I’d occasionally return if I think of sushi while I’m in this area.

Our go-to spot for sushi in Chicago. Have a variety of rolls that all look and taste fantastic. Service is great - everyone is kind and welcoming. They always have fun lights and great music playing. Would highly recommend

This place has definitely earned a top spot on my crab Rangoon leaderboard. We also got the Godzilla and spicy salmon rolls, both delicious. The service was prompt and kind, not at all too invasive or avoidant. BYOB is a nice perk too!
