First time going to uglyfish and it did not disappoint! The food and drinks were excellent, especially for the price. The karaage was wonderfully crispy and juicy. The fish was extremely fresh and we loved the little addition of garnish that accompanied the top of every nigiri. It felt like every bite was an experience. The sea bream and scallop nigiri were especially excellent, I’d come back just for those. Extra shoutout for using a variety of beautiful little plates for every bite. It made the food that much more beautiful to look at and appetizing to eat. The only critique we had was that it felt like we were being served by too many people. Some of the freshest sushi in raleigh. The fish is so tasty and tender. They have a few hot entrees but sushi is the star here. A nicely appointmented restaurant with amazing cocktails. Service is excellent. Such a local treasure. Can't wait to go back

Their staff were very kind, and the food was delicious. The dishes and untencils were really pretty, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was gorgeous. The music were not noisy but had just the right volume, which was nice. I highly recommend this place!

This place is in my neighborhood and I've been dying to try it, so I took my husband and our friend with us! I wasn't sure what to make of the place because there wasn't a menu available on their website and it seemed to be suggested to make a reservation to ensure seating. I had no problem making a reservation for 3 at 6pm. When we arrived, we were promptly and kindly seated. The interior of the restaurant is thoughtfully laid out and tastefully designed/decorated. I loved that the lighting was on the dimmer side, but that the kitchen and prep areas were well lit. It created a lovely ambiance, and felt very sensory-friendly. We had Wendy as our waitress.
